Changes in consumer habits, and more particularly increased health
awareness and self-medication needs, are among the emerging themes
shaping the Over-The-Counter market in Greece.

The PNG Gerolymatos SA identified
and recognized these trends and in 1990 established the OTC Division as
a separate & totally independent business unit. Fuelled by organic
growth and new licensing agreements, the OTC Division has enjoyed
impressive growth over the years.

VITAL plus Q10 &
VITAL Silver are now the leader products in the tonics and food
supplements category and have gained the number one position in IMS
(sales), outperforming formidable global brands. VITAL Silver was
launched in January 2004, as a line extension based on an innovative
multivitamin food supplement with a specialized formula targeted for
people aged over 50. In November 2008 VITAL plus Q10 effervescent was
launched (as an extension to the present range) in order to cover the
consumers with a preference for an effervescent formula/tablet.
In addition to the tonics and food
supplement category, the OTC Division’s product portfolio includes:

Two cough syrups, ANTIS (active
ingredient: butamirate citrate) and SARIBAL (active ingredient: ambroxol
HCL) in both adult and children formulas,

The proprietary wound healing
product HELIXDERM, and APOBACYN which contains 2 different antibiotics
for the topical treatment of the skin,

EFFER-ACTIV (active ingredient:
Glucosamine HCL) an innovative product that contains an improved
glucosamine chemical form in effervescent tablet for the treatment of
osteoarthritis with a very pleasant and satisfying taste,

DURAPROX a very well known,
effective and prototype product (active ingredient: Oxaprozin), with a
satisfactory safety profile, and
-
FARMICALCINE a nasal formula
containing the active ingredient: calcitonin for osteoporosis.

In early 2006 an agreement was
concluded with Alltracel for the distribution of their
m•doc™
based haemostatic range of products in Greece under the brand name
STOPBLEED. m•doc™ (oxidised cellulose) which has been proven to be an
effective and efficient haemostatic agent in wound care.

In 2008 the OTC Division launched
SINOMARIN, a
natural nasal decongestant (hypertonic sea water solution containing
2,3% NaCl) suitable for adults, children and infants, which is present
in 34 countries,

HEALIP a patented docosanol 10%
cream for the topical treatment of oral-facial herpes simplex episodes
(cold sores or fever blisters),

The exclusive distribution for
pharmacies and wholesalers of RICOLA (the herbs of Ricola are made from
the finest natural ingredients and are well known for their soothing,
refreshing and good tasting properties),

In 2009 the OTC division took over
the exclusive distribution of the worldwide and well known children skin
care brand of products, MUSTELA from Expanscience, France the No1 in
pedia segment in Europe.

Additionally, in 2009, the OTC
division took over for Greece and Cyprus the exclusive distribution of
the worldwide well known brand for treating mouth ulcers, ALOCLAIR (a
Sinclair product).
In 2009 the OTC Division have
launched also new innovative products to coverage new, highly promising
and dynamically emerging OTC sectors: LACTOFEMME (an innovative,
effective and clinically tested food supplement which restores and
maintains a healthy vaginal flora), LACTOFLORA (also an innovative,
effective and clinically tested food supplement which restores and
regulates the intestinal flora and can be used adjunctively during
antibiotic treatment).
In addition to an experienced sales force that calls on over 4,000
pharmacies nationwide and all pharmaceutical wholesalers, the Division
has a professional detailing organization team that details General
Practitioners as well as a range of specialists including Geriatrics,
Dieticians, Sports and Rehabilitation Doctors, Orthopaedics,
Paediatricians, Gynaecologists, Endocrinologists, Neurologists.
The effectiveness of the professional detailing organization team is
fully capitalized by the in-store merchandising and trade marketing
programs run by the sales organization team, enabling the Division's
management team to formulate innovative marketing approaches that yield
truly exceptional results in the marketplace.
